Invitations?

Invitations?

FI and I have decided that we are going to do pockefold invitations. .... We will probably buy the pocketfolds themselves from cards and pockets.

For those girls that are doing pocketfolds I have some questions for you as this is my first DIY:

Where is the best place to buy the cardstock for the invitation itself and inserts?
Should we buy big sheets and cut them down to size ourselves, is this cheaper?
Can you get ready made papers that have a raised border on them, like Camacho's?
Should the invitation paper be metallic or not?Does it matter?
Did you use and inner and outer envelope? Is the inner needed?
Typically did everyone who did this save money on invitations?

I know I have alot of questions......sorry...... But i'm clueless.....

Thank you so much!

Re: Invitations?

Here's what I did...
I just order my pocketfolds from remoteassistance.com. They are having a 15% off sale until tonight at midnight. I saved $25.00. I picked a color and went with the metallic pocketfold, 5x5 size.
For paper, I'm ordering everything from LCIpaper.com. The response cards and envelopes all match...I went with Ecru.
I'm a graphic designer so I'm doing them all myself. I still went with 8.5 x 11 paper...I can fit the response cards all on one sheet. I can fit 2 of the
actual invite part on one sheet. I did all the math and I'm getting 4 packs of paper (50 sheets in a pack) and 100 response and regular envelopes.
I'm not doing the inner and outer...partially because I couldn't find a lined inner envelope to fit the pocketfold.
All together I think its going to come to $200 which I think is great compared to what most people spend to have them done by a company.
I think they look very professional and if half the guests didn't know I was a graphic designer, they'd think I got them done by a company.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you need anymore help.
