Invitations?

When do we send out invitations and when should my RSVP date be?

My wedding is March 22, 2009

Re: Invitations?

Your RSVP should be no more than 4 weeks before your date and when to send the invite will vary depending on who you ask. I personally had mine ready so I sent mine on 8/1 for my 10.24 date with a 9.19 rsvp.

I think if you send them 8 weeks before your wedding date, you'd be perfect.

I would suggest making your RSVP date sometime in early February.

I made my RSVP date a month before the wedding and sent out the invitations the month and a half before the RSVP date.

I made sure that my guests all got their Invitations at least one month before the RSVP deadline date. I figure they need that much time to figure things out.

As for RSVP date, i disagree with people who say it shouldn't be any more than one month prior to wedding. I think that's testing fate a little, but maybe that's just me. My RSVP date was set for nearly 7 or 8 weeks before the Wedding and i'm sooooo glad I did it that way! I'm STILL waiting for people's responses. I had purposely given myself that extra time so that I would be able to hunt people down and maybe invite last minute guests. If i would have waited for only a month prior, I'd probably be way too stressed with all that last minute work. But it's up to you.

Re: Invitations?

rsvp date should be about 2.5-3 weeks at the most before the wedding date.

I'd say send the invites about 5-7 weeks before the wedding.

ETA: The reason i think its better to give less time for the rsvp is because people see they have a long time till the wedding and put the invites aide and forget about them. if you leave less time, then they may tend to get it done faster. But I guess that also depends on the individual person.
