Did everyone write guests names on inner envelope as well as outer?

We didn't have inner envelopes but if we did I would have written names on them. HTH!

On the outters I wrote Mr and Mrs John Doe and the inners I used names or if elders said Mr. and Mrs. Doe

No inner envelopes for mine-
But I think if they do come with them you are supposed to write the names of all the people invited Mr. & Mrs. Soandso & children's names. The outer envelope just has the names of Mr. & Mrs.... If someone is invited with a guest that goes on the inner only.
There is so many websites to help you with the etiquette on this.

I had inner envelopes. If the the person wasn't married and invited with a guest I wrote that on the inner:
Outer: Mr John Doe
Inner: John and Guest
Outer: Mr John Doe
Inner: John and Guest

Yes this is what the invitation lady said to me however Ive seen alot of people not write on the inner envelope at all....hmm

well they came with both envelopes...so i guess i need to do the proper thing and address both of them
