How far in advance do you have to order wedding invitations? And how soon do you send them out? My wedding is April 18, 2015. :)

Invitations
I ordered my invites in May, it took about 3 weeks to have them printed. We just sent ours out, a little more than 2 months since we didn't do save the dates. Typically they say 6-8 weeks before your wedding.

I like everything to go out very early....Save the Dates go out just inside a year before, Invitations go out around 12 weeks before. Typical is more like STD 6-8 mo, invites 6-8 weeks. Because of our long engagement, I want to get people off my back about the details, lol.

My thoughts exactly! We sent Save the Dates out about 10 months before the wedding date. We plan to send invitations out about 3 months before, partially because we have a short B list and want to get that sorted out as soon as we can.

I'm having the same problem with my 'b' list too! I'm trying to figure out when to send mine out so I'll get responses back to see if I can invite them or not in time

I totally cheaped out on my invites and got them from anns bridal bargains and think they are actually a lot prettier than any of the invites I've gotten lately. Spent about $250 and because they were cheaper I got nicer paper and an inner envelop. Still came out under 300. I sent stds in April for a November wedding and sent my invites out Labor Day (12 weeks) because our wedding is a holiday weekend. I was glad to have pretty invites for a great price and have extra money for live music during cocktail hour

My girls and I designed our wedding invitations and we ordered from cards and pockets the invitation mats, pre-cut inserts and envelopes. I actually met someone via this site and she did an amazing job with digital caligraphy on my envelopes and so affordable. We are sending ours out Oct. 1st with and RSVP date of Dec. 1st

We have the same wedding date!!! :) We are ordering our wedding invites next month because they take about a month to receive. We were SUPER picky with invites, and I ended up finding the perfect ones on ETSY! We ordered a sample, fell in love, and she was so accomodating and not super expensive. They were so unique and she even does the calligraphy on the envelopes!

How does the whole 'B' list work? Do you send out invites from the B list as you get people who are not able to attend? or do you wait to get all replies and send a second batch of invites out with a different RSVP date?

I think when you get your first 'No' you mail out the first invite from your 'B' list and so forth...
