INVITATIONS GO OUT TODAY!!!!!!!!!

that's right ladies, my invitations are going out TODAY....as my FH is off this week and will be bringing them to the post office. i explained that if he did NOT get them hand cancelled i would be forced to detach his nut sack. needless to say, he will be sure to get the hand cancelling done by the post office people.

this is such a surreal moment for me, i truly can't believe that i have reached the point of invitations are being mailed out. to all of you ladies who are later brides in 2007.....trust me when i say the last year has flown by at ridicilious speed.....and all of you who feel like you'll NEVER get married....cause it feels like FOREVER away....i've been there, and now it's invitation time!! WOOHOO!!!!

Hand cancelling is so that your invitations DO NOT go through the machine with the possibility of getting caught and/or ruined. They hand stamp them instead.

when you have the post office use their own stamper to postmark the invitations, so they don't have to go thru the big machines....which can sometimes get the invites dirty or if they are bulky, can rip.

i put wax seals on the back of my invites, so if they go thru machines it can rip off the seal! if you have to send the invitations out of town/or out of state, they still might go thru machines, but hand cancelling in your home post office can at least help a little bit!

ETA: and it's NOT a stupid question! i didn't know about it until i started wedding planning!

And there it is: The 'I'm mailing out my invites' post, in true Melissa fashion!! That is why I heart you girl I'm just so excited for you and Pete- and you are right- it does feel like forever and a day and then you turn around and you are 9 months away, or mailing out your invites, or just a few weeks until the wedding, etc... and it is SO hard to believe but true!! It's such a great feeling- I have had it before when we reached the one year mark and I can't wait to get it again and again as things keep happening!

Congrats to you and Pete- so exciting and I'm sure they will arrive perfectly and be just BEAUTIFUL!!

no...nothing extra. you just hand them over, and they will do it. most likely they'll put it to the side and do it later, so you don't have to stand there and watch them!
