9/5/15 wedding date... When do you order invitations? If we make the RSVP date about 2 weeks before the wedding - that's around mid-August... And you mail them when? 8 weeks before that?
So, let's say, I mail them mid to the end of June... When do you order?

I would order them once you get all the details finalized for the wedding. The exact times and locations, etc. My sister didn't mail her invitations out until about 6 weeks before the wedding. To be safe I am mailing mine out about 8-9 weeks before the actual wedding date.

My wedding is in 2 months and I haven't sent mine out yet. It took me longer than I expected to get all my information together, so I ordered them late. I still haven't received them. I really wanted them to be out by early February (especially for out of towners) but I dropped the ball :( I say definitely the 9 week mark is the best way to go. Cuz as we speak I'm actually kind of nervous....

I just started to look at designs and started ordering samples and such. I'm DIY them so I wanted plenty of time to work on them.

I would just order them once you have all your details finalized, better to order too soon than too late. I say that because I thought I had plenty of time and didn't really think about them and I think I am now at the point where I am about to be behind if I don't order them ASAP haha.

I ordered my invitations in late January giving me about 4 months. I am sending them out tomorrow. I am so excited. I am sending them early because I have a b list

If you have all of your information, I would say to order when you find the best deal. I ordered mine approx 6 months out.
My main concern is are you leaving yourself enough time to get RSVPs back? There are always stragglers, so you're going to have to call and hunt people down. When do you need to give your final count to the venue?
I'm sending mine no later than 2 months out and giving everyone a month to RSVP.

I just ordered mine on Saturday.. Will hopefully mail them out in late March or early April. I'd rather get it done so I know it's done.

Order them ASAP so if there are any errors you can get them corrected without messing up the timeline. I ordered a batch from a bigger company and HATED them. Tossed them out and started new and had plenty of time because I did it early.

I would also check with your vendor. Mine requires a final head count 10 days before, so we are having the RSVP date be 3 weeks before that. I agree with giving yourself plenty of time. I started looking after Christmas and JUST ordered them for my July wedding.
