Invitations, Menus, Etc-Need help/advice!

Hello ladies,

I just wanted to see how much of my budget I can allocate towards invitations. What's the average for invitations...I know it varies but I need an idea of what I should expect...also, which vendor are you using?

Does 150 invites + 200 Menu Cards, + 200 personalized tags for favors for $2,000 sound reasonable?

I just want to make the right choice since I've pretty much jumped the gun on every other vendor and am now regretting it. TIA!

I think you can definitely get those for $2000 if you choose wisely! Don't forget the cost of postage (both on the RSVP card and on the outer envelope). That cost me a few hundred bucks since I did custom stamps!

I think its possible. You can keep costs down also by DIY ing your menus and programs that way you can put more of that budget towards the actual invitations.

Me and FH went to Papyrus in Roosevelt Field Mall to order our invitations and let me tell you. They have beautiful invites and the cost was definitely worth it. We spend $640 for 100 invitations and everyone raved about how beautiful they were.

Oh wow...I went to a Papyrus in the city and they told me that I would spend no less than $1500 on invitations. I guess its because it's the city.

Yes I think you can do it, but it does depend on the type of invitation you are looking for. You have to shop around a little.

Pocketfolds are going to cost more. Certain types of paper cost more then others too.

I did it for about then when all was said and done and I used eleven18 -- she is a vendor on here and past bride!

I am doing all of mine for a fraction of that - I am using Tessa from Evenstarpaperie.com (lots of the 09 brides are using her) - she is doing my menus, programs, placecards, invites, addressing envelopes, the works. She will work in your budget - It takes some time with emailing back and forth with her for her to nail down an exact price quote (its based on the materials you need) but it was a 1/4th of what we were going to spend at party city with a friends discount...

Does that include assembly? Because the vendor that I am working with will include assembly, address on envelopes and she's customizing the invites to match my monogram and theme. I've looked at about 15 vendors and have requested about 8 samples of their work and this is the best I've gotten thus far. I will definitely look at Tessa's work!

I'm forever recommending the same vendor for menus, place cards, favor tags etc. I wouldnt use her for wedding invitations...as they wont have the engraved type writing...but she is perfect for all the other invites you would beed. web site is www.twolittleduckies.com

her site is geared towards kids, but she does EVERYTHING. and she is a fraction of the cost of other vendors. I usually look around on line...find something i love,,,and she replicates it or puts her own twist on it. She's fabulous. You can email her [email protected] to get in touch with her.

and she lives on long island...so she's easy to meet up with
