Invitations question

When do you send out invites and when should you put the invite RSVP be? Our wedding is in March around lent, thanks girls.

When I ordered my invitations they put a month before on the cards. I guess it depends on when you have to give a final head count.

I need to give a head count 2 weeks before so a month gives times for the stragglers that come back

i sent mine 11 weeks b4 with about a month b4 as the rsvp date

We were having a summer wedding and because of timing, never sent STDs. We also had a LOT of OOT guests we invited.

I sent our invitations out on March 31st (I had meant to do April 1st, but just wanted them OUT by the time they were ready). Our RSVP date was June 5th for our July 18th wedding.

As you will learn from people on this site, RSVP stragglers are the norm (and quite frustrating) so the more time you give yourself between RSVP date and wedding, the better IMHO.

I thought 6 weeks would be good. I was missing 45 responses on my RSVP date. About two weeks later, I was still missing 10, but it was ok because that was much more manageable to track down.

I mailed my invitations on August 30 with an October 1 RSVP date for a November 14 wedding.

I purposely sent them out early because we have so many OOT guests. I also wanted the early RSVP date knowing I was going to have to track people down and the hotel will only honor the room block until 10/14. That gives me 2 weeks to call and remind people to RSVP and let them know if they need to book a room, they still can.
