raised is a nice choice but you have to figure out if its worth the money vs. the DIY. I work at a print shop and the girls who get raised print are typically paying $250 more then me doing my own invitations myself.
Re: invitations - raised font or no??
I think it's nice. We didn't have raised font and we did not DIY. I just loved my invites the way they were.

Raised is nice but if you want to save money go with regular printing.

do whatever is in your budget. i think the raised is beautiful, but i always think in the back of my head...these are ultimately getting thrown out.

Raised font looks very lovely and elegant but costs a lot more. If you have your heart set on it then go ahead. But it's not neccesary if you find something else you like.
Re: invitations - raised font or no??
we did thermography.... we LOVED letterpress but it was WAY too expensive, and we didn't want them printed flat... so we thought it was a good inbetween!
Re: invitations - raised font or no??
I think it's a matter of personal taste, and the type of invitation. The more formal or fancy, you should use thermography. For something simple, or classic you can use flat print. It's also a matter of personal style. I like raised...but flat looks nice too.

we're getting flat... i think raised is nicer but who really cares? lol I didn't know the difference before I was planning a wedding and I doubt anyone else does either. Just do what you like and can afford.
