How are you guys getting the information of the reception information in the invitations? Do you write that on the actual invitation or is there a separate insert you add to the inviation? Does the RH give you a card or something to add?? I don't know where to begin. Friends are making our invitations but I don't think they are making reception cards and I don't know what the process is. TIA ladies!!

Re: Invitations - Reception Info
If you mean the directions, than yes your hall should give you a seperate paper to put in with the invite...

Re: Invitations - Reception Info
if you are having the ceremony at the reception hall you don't need a card for the reception information - you really only need that if the ceremony and reception are at two different places....
our ceremony is at the RH so our invite just says 'formal reception to follow' on the bottom....then we provided a direction card to the hotel along with the accomodation insert....
if your ceremony is at a church there is an additional insert that will say 'cocktails, dinner and dancing' or something to that effect with the name of the RH and time of the event...
either way the direction should be on a seperate card - whether its the one the hall provides or if its matches your invites

Does the Reception hall give you that card or do you have to order it? My church is at 3:30 but my Cocktail hour starts at 7 somewhere else. I don't know how to inform the guests... I'm starting to get worried...

Re: Invitations - Reception Info
We had two inserts - one for wedding ceremony and one for reception. Although they are in the same location, we have a 3 hour gap in between.
We invited everyone to the reception but less people to the ceremony. Indian ceremonies can be long and most people aren't interested in the ceremony and then a 3 hour gap, so they just come to the reception. We had hospitality suites set up in the hotel for those who did come to the ceremony but weren't staying at the hotel
usually there is a reception card in with the invite it usually says something like:
Please join us for the reception following the ceremony at such and such hall. 1234 a street In a town, NY 11111
if you are getting married at the hall, you dont really need a reception card. You can just write something in the invite such as 'reception to immediate follow.'

Re: Invitations - Reception Info
Yes a reception card can be made thats what i have a seperate RSVP RECEPTION CARD ACCOMADDATION & DIRECTIONAL CARDS. I had them made to match my invite. All info are on them. The only info onmy actual invite is the wedding date ceremony time & church. (Church directions are on the directional card along with reception directions they are double sided).
U DO NOT GET THE RECEPTION CARD FROM THE HALL> U CAN HOWEVER GET DIRECTIONALS FROM THEM.

Re: Invitations - Reception Info
yes you can have a separate reception card. Since my ceremony and reception were separate places I made a reception card. Its alot smaller of course, and on the reception card i wrote the time of the reception and the location. I think i had a quote on top like dinner and dancing, some just say reception on top.

I actually just added (to save time and cost) 'cocktail hour to begin at Seven O'clock at Dante's' on the bottom, and I included the directions to the RH with the invite.
