OK, so- we have a widow, living as a couple with a divorcee The Widow still holds her married name. Question is- do I call her Mrs. Gwen Smith or Ms. Gwen Smith? She has been widowed for some time, and has been living with Peter for 10 years. TIA!

given that she and peter are living together (as lovers?..ewww...mental image) i'd say it's safe to address her as Ms. Gwen Smith now...she's clearly moved on if she and Peter have been shacking up for 10 years!!

I think Ms. is safe ... most people wouldn't be offended by that, especially since it sounds like she's moved on.
