invite colors

How did you choose your colors and the order of your colors for your invites? I'm having a hard time....

My colors are supposed to be sage green with plum or eggplant accents... not sure yet. And my dress is ivory. Should the 'white' in my invite be more of a cream? or does it not really matter???

i don't think it really matters.

honestly, people aren't going to remember the color of the paper itself (ivory vs white). in fact, they might not even remember the other colors

Haha. That's true... I have done a few different shades with everything else I've sent out so far (engagement announcement/xmas card, STD, Meet the Family party invite....)

my first invite was all purple then i decided i wanted to one made with more ivory to go with my gown.

i compared the two and decided i liked the all ivory with hints of purple and green.

in the end its up to you

my friend got married recently and her advice to me was that things that i'm going to obsess about (such as linen colors, etc) will probably go unnoticed. She then proved her point by asking me what color napkins she used and i had no idea

everytime i have a DIY project to do, i think of that and the project becomes so much easier

not true!!!

we got so many phone calls and emails saying how awesome our invite was!!

when we got back from our hm we got more emails and phone calls saying they loved all the little details(table numbers & place cards) at our wedding. they said it reminded them of the invite.


it was nice to get these compliments from non liw people

hmmmm... okay, that's what I am trying to go for. Once I do all that stuff, it will all match... I wasn't sure if it was wishful thinking that people would notice....

im using the same colors throughout my wedding

i would probably just do sage, plum, and white, or just do one of the colors with white
