Invite EMERGENCY!!and vendor RANT!

I don't like to give negative reviews but this woman Rebecca Hutchison from Weddinginvdesign.com has royally screwed me..I was supposed to SEND the invites earlier this week and I have YET to receive them or even get an answer from her as to why I haven't received them.

I'm so disappointed in her, I know some of you had this problem but eventually got your invites..I didn't get that.. I had her paid in full since JANUARY! I'm really upset I shouldn't be going through this I had my shower yesterday and today I'm in tears

So now FH & I need your help..where can we get invites with super fast turnaround? All suggestions would help at this point.

ordered them on a monday and received them on the next monday. And---they're gorgeous!!

Also, don't worry if you haven't sent them just yet...mine haven't gone out yet and I am 2 weeks before you...you will just need to call on some trusted friends to help you stuff and address!!

AND--I hope you get your money back too!

We are so sorry to hear about this. How can vendors do this. We used Jean M. Our invitations came to the house in a week. No problems at all. We have ordered STD's and favors from them to. They are excellent. If there was a problem they took care of it quickly and at no extra cost. The have a web site and catalog. Customer Serivce is excellent. You can speak to them on line and by phone. This company is so wonderful. I hope that I helped you out. Any other questions FM me.

I got mine here in Cincinnati from Party City. It was suppose to take 2 weeks for all the printing to get done but I ordered them on a Saturday night and Tuesday morning I got the call that the invites were ready to be picked up and they looked perfect! Party City also has a 30% discount and have a very nice selection to choose from. I would honestly go check there.

Invitations by Joan. She's great - she'll totally work within your budget, and just tell her your dilemma, that you need them yesterday & she'll tell you what she can do. FM me for more info

I noticed your wedding is 7/14.........you still have 2-4 weeks before the invites really need to be out (unless you have some special circumstance). Honestly, I would be calling her 20 times a day, every day until she returns your call. There is NO REASON why you should have to pay someone else for invites when you've already paid someone in full!

I agree with this ...

I see so many girls on here sending their invites way too early .... mailing them so early that it runs the risk of your guests forgetting when your wedding is, and forgetting to RSVP because they have *so much time* to send the card back.

Outside of NY, people don't even mail their invites until 6 weeks before the wedding date ... so that would mean you'd be mailing them June 2nd

In NY we mail invitations 8 weeks (or 2 months) before the wedding date ... which means mailing them May 19th or May 14th

Don't get me wrong though .... if you told the person you ordered invitations from that you intended to mail your invitations by now, then there really isn't an excuse .... unless you ordered them late and didn't give her sufficient time to produce. But you said you've had the order paid in full since January, so that sounds to me like *plenty* of time!

We ordered ours from now-and-forever.com. They came out great & we recieved them just over a week after placing the order.

UPDATE:

It took a call from not so happy FH and she responded saying she 'didn't get my e-mails' likely story, supposedly I will get them by Tuesday or Wednesday' we shall see. If not I'm calling AMEX and see what I can do...

She has kinda lied in every email of when I will get them first she claims the pocketfolds were dented, now the card stock was on backorder?

The sample I received was great but please be wary of service and if you have booked her, really stress WHEN you NEED your invites by.

OMG Erica! I know I've contacted you in the past about your pocket-folds and you mentioned Rebecca to me. In the meantime, I myself have gotten in touch with her and had her make me a few samples which I love. I do have to admit though, I have had a few things with her where she has said she sent me the sample but I never recieved it but then she sent a new one out by Express mail overnight. I also have felt like she has ignored some of my emails in the past but I just kind of let it fly. I really love her work and the samples she made up for me. Now I am not sure what to do. Please FM me and let me know if you receive your inivitations by the date she has told you.

Sorry you have to deal with all this.

I would call her back and tell her that you want her to send them out overnight - Fedex, UPS, or Express mail. I would also tell her that you want a phone call the day she sends them out and you want a tracking number for the package. The time for niceness has long passed - I would demand this and tell her that if you don't get the package by Wed, you will be calling amex and disputing the charge since you never received the product. I deal with credit card companies all day long, if you need help disputing the charge, FM me. I hope it doesn't come to that - my fingers are crossed that you get your invites in perfect condition by Wed.

Invitations by Dawn. Ordered mine on Monday night and had them on Thursday and that was standard shipping.

I hope that everything works out for you and you get your original invitations asap...but in case it does not I also recommend mygatsby ...they really do have a super quick turnarond time and the quality is excellent as is the customer service....

Erica..that is horrible! Im so sorry. I honestly cant give you any info. about an invite company because I DIY invites...but I do hope you can find something soon...
