What does 'line them mean'

the envelopes are lined (the inside flap) with a color

Usually the inner envelope is lined. So if you didn't get it, thats just fine. Can you order them if you want to?

Re: invite envelope question

My invites don't have an inner envelope, and the outer envelope isn't lined. Maybe I'm just blissfully ignorant, but I never even thought to consider them cheesy. If you like them, that's all that matters!

Re: invite envelope question

they were like 1500 bucks and my calligrapher was just shocked when i didn't have the inner envelope. AS FOR THE LINING, i have a 'friend' getting married and seems to be in competition with me for everything.....she was like, oh yea, my mom said they stink if they are not lined....

Re: invite envelope question

Then I guess my invites 'stink' because they aren't lined!! Personally I don't even like the look of most liners. Don't worry about it - like you said, she's acts like she's in competition with you - just ignore her!

Same here, I didn't do the inner envelope or line my outer envelope, my invitations came out beautiful.

Re: invite envelope question

it's not bad at all....and it's not cheesy to have unlined envelopes...we didn't.

What you'll have to do to address them is include all the invitees on the outer envelope ( like Mr John smith and guest or Mr and Mrs. John Smith, or The Smith Family if you are including children)

We didn't have inner envelopes or liners either....put me in the 'stink' category then! Although...we got lots of compliments on how nice our invites were.

Re: invite envelope question

I didn't have an inner envelope. My invites were an evelopement folder. They wouldn't fit in an inner enevelope. I don't think it is a big deal if you don't have one.

My invites are envelopments too. No lining, and no inner envelope. I love them and they are definitely not cheap looking. I'm sure your invites are just beautiful!!!

$1500 seems like a lot for invitations that don't come with an inner envelope... How many?

Re: invite envelope question

since i am making our invites, i skipped the inner envelope. i was the dork who actually lined all the envelopes with wrapping paper. i just wanted to add weight. but don't worry. and your friend is not very nice to say that to you!
