So far all my planning has gone soooo smoothly. I found things pretty easily that I like and all reasonable priced.
Then I ran into invitations--- UGH! How much did you guys spend?
I like to scarpbook so invitations are kinda important to me. I like nice looking papers and embellishments. The invitations I like are all up around $700-1000. I wanted to spend around $500 total.
Is it horrible to print out your own invitations? I have a really good printer and did this with my engagement invites and STDs.
If not, does anyone have a reccommendation for somewhere for unique, pretty REASONABLE invites?

Re: INVITE HELP
I got the name of a woman who was recommended by a knottie who is starting out in the business. I have been emailing back and forth with her and she seems to have some good ideas. She's also supposed to be much, much cheaper but I haven't got her sample pack or the quotes yet but I guess its worth a shot. Her name is Maryellen [email protected]

Re: INVITE HELP
One of my friends printed her own invites and they came out great. The key is to use really good paper and fonts and know what you are doing. I think it takes A LOT of time to do this though, which is one of the reasons I decided against it.
Have you looked at any invite companies online? Some are a little cheaper than going to a stationer on LI.
Of course, the more embellishments you choose, the more the price is likely to be. Try to prioritize what is most important to you - for instance, quality of the paper, one color or two color printing, ribbon bands or wraps, etc. Good luck!

Re: INVITE HELP
Thanks! I'm trying online sites and they are pretty expensive once I pick the paper, ribbon, two colors etc. I gotta keep plugging. Hey I didnt struggle with anything else. I guess it wouldnt feel like wedding planning without a little stress huh? LOL
