Invite Help

Invite Help

I'm seriously late on ordering these invites and now I'm having wording issues. Here is an online sample of my invite. I'm probably going to change my font type, but how is the wording. I basically worked off their template and changed a few things. How does the line about the wedding start time sound? My hall doesn't want me to put an earlier start time and suggested this.

What do you ladies think?

Why must the start time be on there twice? It seems a little weird to put the line 'Ceremony to start promptly at 11:30am' after you stated it's at 11:30 in the morning. Can't you just put the line reception immediately following and no the line above that?

I almost take it to be rude when it's stated twice, especially with the word promptly.

maybe only put the ceremony time at the bottom (with promptly)? Lots of times the ceremony does start after the time stated on the invite and people know they have some leeway so I don't think it's a bad idea to indicate that it's REALLY at 11:30..I wonder if there's another way to state it too?

Yes, that's my problem. People usually list an earlier start time for that reason but my hall won't let me.

Yes, my point was that I'm trying to highlight that it IS actually starting at 11:30 since most people pad the time. Would it look better if I just adjust the actually start time line to say 'promplty at eleven-thirty in the morning' ?

Hmm, I'm having a tough time figuring this out. Would it look odd if you remove the time from the top and just keep the bottom line 'ceremony to start promptly at 11:30'?

The problem is that people drive me nuts; if the invitation says 11:30, then it's 11:30 not 11:45, 11:55, etc.

I know, that's why I'm so worried. I just wish I could say 11:00 am because while some people will be there on time, others will enevitably be late. My ceremony will be really short so if you're 30 minutes late, you've missed it and I don't want people coming in while I'm doing my processional either. ARGGH!

I'm getting married at the hall, too. I'm putting the ceremony time in the text and just 'reception immediately following' at the bottom. I'm not concerned people will be late, I figure word of mouth will do. Plus anyone important enough that I feel 'has' to be there will know directly from me.

I haven't done my invites yet, though.

IMHO, leave out that whole line at the bottom about the start time.

Oh, I forgot to askwhere you got them from. I really like them, very simple and elegant

It's from Birchcraft and the style # is T1758. The colors on this sample were a little hard to see, but the flowers are actually purple. They also have one completely in white and that style # is T5727.
