So we've been so preoccupied with house hunting that my wedding planning has been lacking. Yesterday was 6 months away and I really need to order invitations. The problem is, I don't want to spend a lot of $ because people just throw them away. I also don't want to do DIY. I feel that will just cause me too much stress. We ordered our STDs from weddingpaperdivas and these are them, the sample not my actual STD:
Do I just get the invites that match?
My MOH said she feels wedding invites should be white. However, I hate white! If I sent out the invites that match, are they not elegant enough? I don't want it to seem like a beach party when its a wedding! Also, when I put the invite with the reception card and response card, I was shocked at the price! Maybe they have coupons ?
Please help me out here!

I'm sure you'd be able to find some afforable beach themed wedding invites through etsy, or even vistaprint.
I didn't completely match my STD & Invitation, but since I'm having a peacock feather themed wedding, I had one feather design for my STD, and a totally different design for the invitations.I DIY'd my invites, but we just got FH cousins invitations she ordered through vistaprint, and im in love with them!!!

If you love them then get them!! My invites are white black and silver - they don't need to be all white!

If you love the ones that match get them. they do not have to be white nor match your save the date my invitation is brown, blue and ivory. get the ones you love

They don't have to match our STD. Save the Dates are fun and exciting. Wedding invites are more formal. There are very pretty wedding invites with a beachy theme that wont feel informal.

They definitely don't have to match! Our colors did, but that was it
Our invites are ivory and green- definitely not white!

where did you find the first invite?
I just googled Beach Wedding Invitations in Images.
You can print that out and ask whatever vendor you decide to use, if they can get it.

as far as wedding invites being white.. have you SEEN mine? lol not an ounce of white in them! haha (album for first proof)
they dont need to be white. I think those that you posted are very classy, while not being a beach party like you said!
If you can afford them and you love them then go for it! you can find cheaper invites I am sure though if you dont want to spend too much on etsy etc...
also - money saving trick - you can putthe reception info onthe actual invitation instead of having a separate card for that.

Ours didn't match at all!
Our save the dates are blue and fun, with a pic of our engagement in snowy central park.
Our wedding colors are various shades of pink.
Our invites are very simple and elegant, completely white/cream.

I plan on having black invitations with white or gol lettering. I say so what you want! I would suggest doing something a little different because as stupid as this sounds that may think they've seen it already because it's exactly the same?
