Invite help- Addressing???

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

ok, when addressing envelopes...

if the people are not married, but live together, I am goign to put both names (like neen did)...

Ms. Girl XXX
Mr. Boy XXX

and am putting the person who we're friends with 1st on top.

NOW-
if bf/gf DON'T live together... What do I write??

senario: Bridesmaid, lives at home, but has serious bf (for over 5 years) whom we know very well, do I put & guest, OR his name? (b/c they don't live togehter)... If I put just HER name on the outside envelope, and then on the inside envelope put BOTH their names, is that ok? or should it still say '& guest' on the outside.

Serinaro: Friend who is engaged, but they do not live togeter either, do I put her name AND his name on the outside, or just her name on oustide (with or without guest) and inside envelop put BOTH names????

Thanks for the help!

The outside envelope should to addressed to the person who is living at the residence. The inside envelope should be for all the invited guests for that invite.

That's what I was told and what I did.

You should do what you feel comfortable with though. I have gotten invitations both ways but it makes sense if 'Tina' lives at the residence only then why would it be addressed to 'Greg' who doesn't live there? The inside envelope takes care of that.

yes, but the majority of my friends have their own apt. i did it that way because i've gotten invites addressed to me and FH like that in the past.

Re: Invite help- Addressing???

Based on your post, I'm assuming you're having inside envelopes. So, for both cases, you address it only to the person to whose house you're sending the invitation.

Just an added note, and I'm not sure if you have any of these:

for married couples where the woman did not take the man's name, they go on one line at the top. That's how it's differentiated between an unmarried couple living together. So it would be:

Mr. John Doe and Mrs. Sally Smith (married, woman kept name)

Mr. John Doe
Ms. Sally Smith
(unmarried, living together)

Mr. John Doe (outside)
Mr. John Doe
Ms. Sally Smith (inside)
(unmarried, not living together)

Ok-sorry.

ONE MORE QUESTION...

married couples, SAME last name..

Mr & Mrs (BOY NAME) smith

or just Mr & Mrs Smith?

I personally don't like being addressed by the 'boy'... I would take offence if MY name was not included, if it had ANY one name, but Mr & Mrs, wouldn't offend me as much...

is that ok?

From what I have read & heard (not that it matters you can do whatever you want). You would address the outside envelope to the person your BM and then the inside envelope to BM & X. The other way you could do it which my friend did was just put Fi & me on the outside (just like you want to do with your friends that live together). My thought is if you are inviting someone that has a significant other that they are serious about then I would include both names otherwise I would leave the outside envelope with just the one persons name and on the inside I would put persons name & guest.
Good luck

I read that each person should get their own invitation. So if you have a friend who has a steady someone and they do not live together, a separate invitation should be sent to each one.

Really????

But what if you are not 'friends' with that person... but you know they have a steady someone??? I think it would be weird to send them an invite. (they would be the 'guest' of our 'inviteee') ?????
