LOL we invited almost the exact same number of ppl, infact maybe even the EXACT same number, i remember thinking just under 340 by very little somewhere between 335-340
and yes there is hope lol, what is your minimum?
at first i got VERY VERY worried bc we were getting mostly yes answers, at one point i had 200 yes's but very little no's but all the no's all come in towards the end

Re: Invite number!!!
you can definitely count on some No's, especially if you've invited a lot of people. For ME though, I had tried to keep it intimate, so I only invited family and close friends. I didn't get any No's really (maybe just a few). But like I said, that was only because we were inviting people who we have special relationships with.

Re: Invite number!!!
I think about 10%-20% don't come.. but I think it depends on many factors such as how close you are with the people, how far it is from your home, how many OOTers there will be, and if you are doing STDs.

I agree with this! We're inviting 175ish the room min is 130 and max is 180. I don't want to invite more than the max (or the amt we can afford) just in case a lot of yes's come as they are all close friends and family and they all have known the date since we picked it (abt 2 yrs in advance). We are going to have a 'B-list' just in case the number falls below the minimum.

I did the same thing. I decided not to go over the maximum of what I could afford with invites, only because (like I said above) I was really just inviting people that I'm very close with. There was no way that they'd miss my wedding, unless it was an emergency. But I did have a B-List as well. The only people who declined were a few of DH's guests from WAYYYY out of state. And I was able to fill it in with a couple extra people. I ended up going just ONE over my original amount.

Re: Invite number!!!
My step-mom asked me about my B-list yesterday and I told her I didn't know who would be on it since we invited everyone my dad said to.
The only people I want to invite more of are my work friends, but it's hard to draw the line once I start inviting more. Plus, I'm leaving my job right after the wedding so it's not like I need to worry so much about insulting them.
So much to think about!! I hope I start getting more RSVP's soon.

Re: Invite number!!!
I think it's about 20%. We invited 174 and had 120 guests.. THEN had 5 people cancelling the week of, well 2 couples and 1 other person.

Re: Invite number!!!
THe standard is 15 -20 but if you ask the girls that have gotten married so far this year or have their final counts it is way up from that. I had so many no's that would normally have been yes but for many reasons and mostly money they cant travel.

Re: Invite number!!!
Don't feel bad about wanting no's----My min is 200 and really don't want much more than that. I want about 20 people to say no. So far I got 20 yes and 5 no. Like someone said the no's come in more towards the end.

Re: Invite number!!!
Embrace the crowd!!! hehe. We started out thinking we'd have 140 invited and maybe 125 total but ended up with 175 invited...I sent them out last week and we have 45 Yes and 3 No - I honestly think most are going to say Yes...and I've decided to embrace it. hehe.

Re: Invite number!!!
Our RSVP date is May 1st, and we have had about 25% say no so far. I am expecting it to go up to about 30%. Pretty much all of the OOT people (about 15) said no except for 2. I am figuring this is mostly b/c of the economy.

Re: Invite number!!!
We invited 186 and 120 came. A lot of people just had other events that day, no one really seemed to have financial issues that prevented them from coming except a few younger cousins who had work and school.
