to date i have had a pretty laid back attitude and i must admit, for the first time i am actually freaking out...
i am designing my own invites and realized i am behind. anyone else create layouts and take their work to a printer in manhattan? where did you go? what was the turn around time? what was the cost? i feel like i am racing against the clock as i want to send my invites out come june.
am i screwed?

I don't know the answers to your question, but I finally picked out what I wanted for invites. Still haven't ordered the paper and will have to put them together and have them printed. I think you'll be fine. I'm sending them out mid-June and as long I stay focused it will get done. Good luck!!

I was going to try to do my own. Jenny2penny sent me a great template! But it was too much work and I decided to just order some plain ones.

You are totally fine! I designed my own save the dates. The printer I am using can usually turn a job around in less than three days. If your printer tells you it will take longer, try going to someone else. Also, try to avoid Kinkos. They are *way* more expensive than other smaller places.
