Finally found an invite that we both agree upon, but was wondering if the $$$ seems about average. This is a quote from crane.com. Do distributors/stores discount?
We would still have to pay for postage and perhaps for someone to address the envelopes.
$900 for 100 (thermographed) - invitations - outer & inner envelopes - reception card - response card - response card envelope - thank you note - thank you envelope

Re: Invite Pricing
I don't think that sounds so bad for nice invites. You should check around though., you may get a better price from someone else.

Re: Invite Pricing
That seems high, but if these are elaborate invites then its about right.

Re: Invite Pricing
That seems really high. I'm paying less than half of what you are paying for 100 invites...

Re: Invite Pricing
My invites were over 1000 and that was for 100 invites, response cards, inner envelopes and direction cards, so I think your price is very reasonable.

Re: Invite Pricing
Very nice!! They don't look elaborate, but depending on the quality of the paper, any kind of layering, special ink, liners, etc, it can drive your price up. I would certainly check around though. Quite a few people told me they were able to get lower quotes on invites from other vendors. Try some on the vendor page here for starters.
I think they are very nice!

Re: Invite Pricing
For cranes invites that is about right - I looked at some - the one you have is nice - it is a thicker card - Most cranes you will find seem to be closer to $1000 or above.

Re: Invite Pricing
We were in the same boat as you! I just felt that yes, we could find something just as nice for cheaper but our sanity was worth the extra $$. So many choices out there!!
We were fine budget wise on other stuff, so we could deal to stray a little here. If we weren't, we'd probably still be deciding lol!!
try one of the vendors here, they usually discount a little more than the internet.
I went to Linda's Lovelies, she was so nice!

Re: Invite Pricing
Cranes is one of the more expensive papers out there...you are going to pay for the quality and name.

Re: Invite Pricing
if you love them then go with it. i was just quoted a ridiculous 1800.00 for 100 invites and 300.00 for the first 50 table cards! yikes! wat out of budget but it broke my heart b/c they were the perfect invitation for my daisy-themed wedding. i also don't want to have to settle for cheap flimsy paper. so it's back to the drawing board...can't believe looking for invites has been so hard!

Re: Invite Pricing
that seems high to me, but maybe not for cranes. I think they tend to be more pricey. I would try lindas lovelies just for comparison to see if you're in the ballpark!
