I am currently addressing all of my invites, and have a question. If you are inviting a widow or widower do you include ' & guest' in case they want to bring someone, or do you think people would get offended?

Hmmmm...I guess it would depend on how long they've been a widow. Tough call - not sure!

I would think it would be up to you if you want any 'single' person to bring a guest or not (no matter the reason of why they're single). I guess only you would know if the person would be offended by it, but i can't see why they would be. If you have the room to have them bring a guest then go for it - they may feel more comfortable bringing a friend anyway.

I agree....I think that even if they weren't ready to bring a date, they would probably love to bring a friend.
