Invite Question

When addressing the inner envelope, if you use first names whose name goes first, the guy or the girls? i.e. Jack and Jill OR Jill and Jack? Confused!

Re: Invite Question

I believe the girls name is always supposed to go first, but I guess if you are friends with Jack, and you don't know his girlfriend, but you know her name is Jill - would you right Jack and Jill as opposed to Jack and guest.....hmmmm I don't know! I do know that my inner envelopes will be first name only, I like the more informal look there.

Re: Invite Question

I am not a big fan of what's right and wrong. I kind of do what I like. So this is what I am doing.

I am using only first names. I am addresssing them via my PC so I set up a mail merge. So depending on how the outer envelope is the inner envelope will follow suit. just makes the merge easier and less work.

Typically the male's name is on the outer envelope (mostly married couples) so the outer would be Mr. and Mrs. Tom Smith and inside would be Tom and Dawn.

If the girls name is going on the outer envelope (for example, my friend and she is bringing a guest or her b-friend) 1- the outer envelope would be Ms. Kelly Smith and the inner envelope would be Kelly and Guest. or 2-the outer envelope would be Ms. Melissa Smith and the inner envelope would be Melissa and Dennis.

Hope this makes sense.
