I;m making a list of my adresses to send my envelopes off to be done, and I need help!

Do you write out the name of the State?
like

123 Wedding Rd
El Cajon, California 11456

or

123 Wedding Rd

El Cajon, CA 11456.

I think that if you are following the rules for a very official(black tie event) invitation, you have to spell it out. I personally did not. I think CA looks perfectly fine

the etiquette books say to spell the state, but i don't think that it's bad to abbreviate.

The PO prefers the abbreviation, etiquette says to write it out.

I would definitely suggest spelling it out. There should be no abbreviations on wedding invitations or their envelopes.
