Does everyone generally have a white/off white outer envelope? Did anyone do a colored outer envelope or should the colored envelopes be the inner one?? so confused. tia

I think most use white/off white. You can use color, just watch what color you use so that the printing doesn't get lost in the color.

You can do colored envelopes if you wanted to, I wouldnt recommend it only b/c when printed on-even a calligrapher the ink tends to bleed into the paper and fade.
My mom is an artist and does this kind of stuff and it almost always happens.

go for color if you want it - it's your wedding so don't worry about what others will think. i know i'm doing color. =0)

I'm having white envelopes but I just LOVE brown envelopes with a hint on gold in them (they are like a shiny sparkly paper - not cheesy though!), I got an invite that had a brown envelope like that and it had gold calligraphy on it and it looked stunning!

my envelopes have colors.. and i planning to match the font to the colors.. i think it will come out pretty nice..
