Re: Invite question

I am sending mine out next Friday so I'm only doing a month before the RSVP date.

I don't know what's 'right' - we ordered our invites late...

thanks. I don't know what is 'right' either... I want to give everyone enough time, but not too much time that it's forgotten about, you know?

Re: Invite question

I know I haven't sent mine out yet haha but I am sending mine out Sept 22nd and my RSVP is Nov 10th so my guests have 7 weeks to RSVP but I have a month and 10 days once my RSVPs are in to get everything together. I am prob going to ahev to call people so I made my rsvp date early.

But since you are not near a holiday I would say send them out about 7-6 weeks before ur RSVP date.

Re: Invite question

I guess 6 weeks before RSVP date would be good... Not too soon, not too late?

Re: Invite question

Our RSVP date is July 15 and we're gonna send the invites out about 5 weeks from that date - so around June 10 or so.

That sounds good. I just found this on google:

When to mail your Invitations

Your invitation should match the style of your event. Is it formal, semi-formal or a casual backyard get together. Your invitation provides the details of the celebration as well as what to expect at the party.

Traditionally, it is advised to send out invitations eight weeks before your event. We can hear you screaming 'Eight weeks!' We've found while this is a good idea with formal events and weddings, it is just not possible with most every-day events. Our customers tell us that they didn't even think about having a party until 2-6 weeks before their event. Obviously, the sooner you can notify your guests, the better, but don't let this stress you out or prevent you from getting killer invitations at the last minute.

If you know you're having a party for an event that is several months away, consider sending a Save the Date card. This is simply a notice to your guest list that you are planning an event for that date and to mark their calendars so they'll be ready when the details follow by invitation closer to the party date when the details have been finalized. Save the Date cards are almost a necessity for events taking place on holiday weekends, events that will require out of state travel for guests or a wedding to ensure vacations are not scheduled for the same time.

Re: Invite question

We sent them 11 weeks before, and the RSVP date is about 5 1/2 weeks before.....but we have a ton of OOT so we wanted to give a little extra time!

Re: Invite question

i sent mine about about 6 weeks before the RSVP date. i was going to send them earlier, but was afraid that if they had 8 weeks, they'd end up just lying around til after the RSVP date.

Re: Invite question

i want to make sure mine are out by Oct 1st and the RSVP will probably be the first week of November - so people have a month to RSVP - and ill have my count a month before the wedding - we are also sending out stds by the end of this month

Re: Invite question

Some people are SO lax about RSVPing, I'd send them out as early as possible.
