Is it bad to not invite someone to your wedding that you had invited to your engagement party a year early?
My fh and I are debating some ppl that we invited to our engagement party back in July. We aren't getting married until next October.. and we haven't seen/spoken to these ppl (they are basically not even our friends any more)...does this look really bad to cut them?
haha ..what are your opinions?

Re: Invite Question..
If the friendships ended poorly, and didn't just fizzle out, then I wouldn't invite them. If everyone's just been too busy to catch up in the past few months, then I think I'd still invite them.

i don't think you should feel obligated to invite anyone! relationships change over time, a year can change alot of things!

Re: Invite Question..
Well, normally I'd say yes. But I'm actually going to say no because I'm in the same boat.
We (well FH) had a friend....his so-called best friend. He has always in the past screwed FH over, but this time it was royal. Anyhow......FH was going to ask him to be a GM, and he was waiting until our e-party to ask his guys. So e-party comes. Sh!thead friend of course is invited. Party starts at 11. 11:30, still no friend.......12 still no friend....12:30 nope, not there yet.......he finally stumbles in looking like he rolled out of bed at 1:00!!!!!!!! The freaking party ended at 2!!!!!!!!
FH never asked him to be a GM, and no longer speaks to him. He has tried to call FH a few times, and stopped by our house once (when we weren't home) but FH is done with him. He was really upset when dumba$$ friend was so late......FH doesn't have any pics of him and his GM's from our e-party simply because of that guy.
So NO, he will not be invited to the wedding. He did not get an STD, and he will NOT get an invite.

Re: Invite Question..
yeah unfortunately there was no falling out- they just were kinda on the fence to begin with .. and we were like ok invite them.. and now we are regretting it..
i kinda wish we had a big ugly fight that would make it easier.. its such a WASTE of money though.. and also if these ppl got married we would NOT want to go to their wedding

Re: Invite Question..
I guess you should invite them, since there was no official friendship-ending event, but maybe they feel the same way and will decline the invite?

Re: Invite Question..
If youre close to your max def dont invite them. You don't want to use up a spot on someone you don't really care if they're there or not. I would def consider them for the b/c list if you have one.

Re: Invite Question..
you & your FH should use your best judgment.
we are dealing with a similar situation. in we sent STDs to a couple of people who are no longer on our invite list. we asked our parents opinions & they basically told us, if you don't want to have anything to do with said people anymore, then don't invite them.
so we cut them from our list.
btw: both situations where falling outs.

Re: Invite Question..
This happened to me...I attended an eparty for a friend like 2 yrs ago and then 1 yr ago I moved out of state so we werent as friendly. When she got married a few months back and I never recieved an invite to her wedding(not that I would have gone anyways) I did feel a little left out...but yet I totally understand why. With that being said I think you should consider inviting atleast some of them. I'm sure your gut will tell who should be there and who shouldnt. Good luck.
