My invites will be going out 2/28. I know for a fact some people told me they cannot attend because of prior commitments. Do I send them an invite anyway? I do not want it to seem that I am fishing for gifts. help???

I would send the invite anyway. I don't see it as asking for gifts, I see it as you are still thinking of them, even though they cannot attend. I am in this situation, we know of a few people who will not be able to attend either for prior commitments or they are OOT.

yes - I sent my invites to people that already said they can't attend. you just never know what can happen - better to have sent them an invite than not.

I wouldn't see it as fishing for gifts, and I hope nobody views it that way when I send my invites out. I think it's just a nice gesture that you're making to extend an invitation. I think this way they know that you really want them to be there.

definately...We sent ours out to people that we knew were not coming but we wanted them to know that they were still thought of...It was not fishing for gifts at all!!

Definitely send them an invite. Things change, and while it's possible whoever said they can't attend, still won't, there is a chance that plans/circumstances have changed and they can attend.

Send the invites because you never know who may change their mind at the last minute. Plus, people like to know they are being thought of to be part of such a special day!!!

my friend is not coming - i told her im not going to send an invite- she was fine with it ask them if they still want an invite, just in case- or something like that

I sent invites to people that told me they weren't coming. Like my Aunt in Florida who said didn't want to make the trip, etc. etc.....

Yes, I sent out about 20 that would not be coming, most family I have not seen in a long time. I sent one to my cousin who is in the Marines but I know he is shipping out soon again but he can't but the invite is a nice gesture.
