Current invite text: Silly question: Nick and I both have the same last name as our parents, and I have read that on the invite, the brides name goes first and middle. I don't have a middle name, so I put my last name in - would that sound stupid to you? Nick's last name is on there too - this seems uneccesary, but when I take the last names out, it seems naked.
What did you do?

Re: Invite question: do I put my last name?
we put our middle name. if we didn't, the invite would say gail renee and gary t. since fh only has an inital has the middle name, we decided to use our last names with it.

Re: Invite question: do I put my last name?
I wouldn't put your last name, because it's already stated with your parents.
I would simply put:
Stephen and Kate XXXX Joyfully request your presence and blessings At the marriage of their daughter
Ryanna
To
Nicholas John
Son of Nicholas and Carole XXXXX
OR

Re: Invite question: do I put my last name?
fi doesn't have a middle name, i mean he just uses his mother's maiden name, so we just used both of our first names--- not too crazy about my middle name anyway.

I think you can leave out the last names. I think you should only include the last names if it's different from the parents last name.

Yes, only repeat if different. W are using our first, middle and last but that's because our invite starts with 'Together with their parents'. They are not paying for the wedding per se. Dad gave me a gift of money and FIL's gave us a very generous wedding present by buying all of the materials for our new kitchen.

I would just use your first names. I think the repetition of last names doesn't sound right. JMO

Re: Invite question: do I put my last name?
I went with last names. I hate my middle name and didnt like how the invite looked tlooked with just my first name and middle name. . . so I added my last name cause it took emphasis off my middle name, and I thought it made me look older. . .if that makes any sense. I thought referring to me as my first and middle names made me sound like a little kid who just got in trouble.

technically (according to the crane's handbook), i read that you include both your last name and FI's --i only included FI's since his parents are divorced...

I don't have a middle name either so this is what mine will say:

Kathryn to Patrick A. XXXX
Blah, blah blah

i think its more classic to leave out your last names; i think i would leave them off in you case since they are the same.

Re: Invite question: do I put my last name?
I would just leave it and not put last names.. Once you see it laid out in your font in a proof you'll be able to tell how it will really look.
