Invite question - got my proof

Invite question - got my proof

And it's ALLLLL wrong.

The way it's laid out, our names are on one line, and it sits in this little brown card, so the names cannot really be below the 4th line or you won't see them. Take a look below.

So they made things that I had on one line onto two, which throws the WHOLE thing off. But whatever, that's fixable. I just hope that they didn't do that because it won't fit on one line ...

ANYHOO that is a vent, not a question. I had my name on the reply card but my mom wants them to go to her. Is this weird? I have lived outside of my parent's house now for 6 years. I am also 31.

AND ... on the outer envelope, on the back where the return address is, does just the address and city, state go there, or do you put the name too? I think the printer (FH's uncle) told me it was just the address, but they have added the name now.

I think Carlson Craft has a problem following directions.

I had some problems with my invite too. I'm still awaiting the revisions. I need to get them out ASAP but she doesn't see too concerned about it. BUT, this is your vent!!

My parents have contributed a large amount to our wedding so, I have my response cards returning to my parents home. She offered to keep track of it all for me, which is great (another thing less to do) and it makes her feel important. I don't want to take that away from her.

for realizing that the problems with a proof are very often created by the manufacturer and not the store ordered from

* RSVPs should go to whomever is hosting the wedding ... I was 30 when we got married, and also out of the house for about 6 years. RSVPs went to my parents since they were paying for the majority of the wedding.

* Return Address on envelopes CAN have the name, but shouldn't ... unless its being sent to a p.o. box or apartment building where its *truly* necessary. its not really *wrong* either way.

I was there when FH's uncle created the order, AND I gave him a printout of what I wanted it to look like, so I didn't think it was him. He understood my concerns about the name being on the 4th line, no lower, etc.

Thanks for clearing up the rsvp thing. I guess that is what my mom wanted - the cards to go to her since they are hosting. Makes more sense now that I read it. I see a lot of RSVPs going back to the bride, so I just assumed it was standard now ... maybe those brides are paying for the wedding themselves.

Thanks! And I love that a few of you 07 brides come to the 08 board every so often and help us out. So sweet of you!!!

Good idea - she likes to keep track of stuff so I can just let her do that. But I will have to call her every day and find out what happened! I can't do the mailbox watch now really!

Re: Invite question - got my proof

i had my rsvps come to me & Fh at our apartment.

it was just easier....my parents are helping pay but they are divorced and obviously live in different houses and if i picked one over the other it would have been weird.

plus i am WAY too selfish and I want to be the 1st one to know!!!

Yeah. I was hoping to have my invites next week - i am off on friday and going away with my mom and sister and niece and I was hoping to pick them up in the am and be able to show them, but no such now ... I probably won't have them until the week after next ... July 22nd or so I am guessing. Oh well. Just in time for my bday .. July 27 .. but now they will not go out on July 25 when I wanted them to, more like August 5 or something ...
