My parents are paying/hosting our wedding, but we're taking care of all the arrangements.
Our home address, not my parents, was used as the return address on the invitation and for the response card.
Did anybody else do that?

Re: Invite Question re: host & return address
I think that is fine - afterall, you will hve to know who is and isn't coming in order to do the seating

I did that, too. Fi and my parents are hosting, but it makes more sense if we receive the responses, since we're doing all the planning.

Ok, I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't unheard of or looked down upon as poor etiquette.

Wow - we're on the same wave length today! We did the same thing. I think it's fine.

Re: Invite Question re: host & return address
I ended up ordering mine from Lizard Designs. I just got my proof -- I have to scan a pic -- they are beyond beautiful!! (If I do say so myself!) It makes it so real seeing OUR names on the invite! Did you end up going with the William Arthur ones?

That's what we did! We're paying for our own affair. I couldn't imagine doing it any diff., I want to be the first to know who's coming

Re: Invite Question re: host & return address
how many of us really abide by tradition today anyway...you own a house...I'm sure they know that you are living together...
we sent them to ourselves as well...no way was I going to give up the chance to get those cards every day in the mail!!

Re: Invite Question re: host & return address
lea, I approved the proof today...that's what got me wondering. After looking at our address on the envelopes, I got nervous and asked them if it was appropriate. One of the women that worked with us on the invite said 'It's not normal, but I wouldn't stress over it. You've got enough to stress over.' So I left it as is. And yeah, we got the William Arthur invites from Lion In The Sun.
