I have a dilema. My married parents are paying for half of the wedding. His divorce parents and paying a qtr. each. I really want my parents and his parents names to be written on the invite ONe example with married parents states this:
Mr. and Mrs. Brides Parents Mr. and Mrs. Grooms Parents
request the honor of your presence
Have you seen divorce parents written out separately:
Mr. Groom Dad and Ms. Groom MOm
I don't want the wording:
Together with their parents......
I really want my parents names to be on the invite. Just like me...the waited so long for me to get married. LOL Any suggestions?

Re: Invite Questions with Divorce Parents
i had the opposite problem. my parents are divorced and his are married. what i did (becuase i didnt like 'together with thier parents' was:
Ms. Brides mom and Mr. and Mrs. brides dad invite you..... bride and groom son of mr. and mrs. groom parents
my mom, dad and stepmother all have the same last name so i wrote it this way to show they are not all married to each other. good luck!

Re: Invite Questions with Divorce Parents
You might want to check out www.verseit.com They have tons of suggestions on how to word the invites. This might help or hurt- maybe you could ask them for input- you might wind up with a 'too many cooks spoil the broth' situation.

Re: Invite Questions with Divorce Parents
My parents are married and paid for the wedding, his are divorced and didn't. So we put something like this:
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith invite you to share in the marriage of their daughter Stephanie Caroline
to
Michael Jones
son of Ms. Jane Doe and Mr. Jim Jones
We listed his parents seperatly with his mom's new married name.

Re: Invite Questions with Divorce Parents
Mine went something like this... (i did it this way because both of my parents paid for the wedding and DH's did not contribute... so)
Bride's full name (so they knew who I belonged to)
to
Groom's full name.

Re: Invite Questions with Divorce Parents
My FFIL has remarried but, I don't feel FH's step mom name should be on the invite. Is that rude? She's sensitive so I don't want to hurt her feelings. But, not only that...I feel kinda strange because her friend is giving me a huge discount on the invites.

Re: Invite Questions with Divorce Parents
Here is the pict of my invite (sample). Platinum edges on white. I am going with platinum since I am having a winter wedding. I decided that I am going to include my parents and his parents names.
