Invite & registry help!!!!!!!!!!

Went invite shopping this week. Do you put your registry info. in your invites?
I sent out my STD already which included my accommodation info.
I live in FL and getting married in L.I., so we want people to order gifts online and have them shipped.
My shower will be here (with FL people only/probably).
Help! Where does the registry info. go? I want presents

I know my mom was putting the registry cards in the shower invites, I dunno about the actual wedding invites.

this is a #1 rule-----you NEVER EVER EVER put your registry info in your invites! ppl will find it disgustingly tacky because it's saying 'you're invited to our wedding, and here's a list of gifts you can get us.'

the registry info is passed on by word of mouth--and your bridal shower invitations. that is it. no where else should you put the registry info. if ppl want to know--they can ask around.

You shouldnt put the registry information on the wedding invitations.... registry info will spread via word of mouth, or it can be included on the bridal shower invites (since that party is not thrown by you)

So, am I supposed to invite every guest to the shower? 80% of the invites live in NY and I live in FL.

you can still send invitations to the women in NY who you would love to invite to the shower--even though they can't attend. that way the registry info is in the invite--and ppl can order gifts online and ship them to you.

I agree with everyone else. You shouldn't add that info in your invites. Have your wedding party spread the word around. Good luck getting your goodies!

No, don't invite every guest to the shower! People know that couples register when they get married, and I'm sure that your guests will ask where you're registered (they'll ask your family members, friends, etc.) Or, if you have a wedding webiste, that's the perfect place to put registry information, and you can include your website address on the STDs or whatever.

THANK YOU!!!!!!

(not to offend the OP-- i totally understand if you don't know)

I'm saying THANK YOU b/c I followed this rule and I got SCOFFS at my party-- 'she had no registry card, how the hell am i supposed to know where to go for the gift? ' I was SO mad!!! So I would tell people-- what Melissa just wrote and they HAD NEVER HEARD of it before! I'm like, c'mon!!!! You can't put it in there except for a shower b/c you are being 'showered with gifts' that's the idea....

But for my e-party that's what happened! People were annoyed at me, gave me some random crap gift and was like 'ugh, I had such a hard time, I had no idea what to get you b/c you didn't register' so I'm like oh no i did and they go ' well, how the heck am i supposed to know that?' and i'm like UGH!!!!!!!

So regardless-- even if you have the same thing happen that happened to me (which I'm sure you won't b/c I'm sure your guests will have a half a brain!!) lol... just know that you did the RIGHT thing!
