so I FH and I were told our room hold 155 comfortably. And when we booked we had a list of 150 people. But then that list somehow turned into 171 people. And I thought that number included the out of country people and FH told me it didn't. The original list i also had was missing a lot of FHs family and i never knew it or knew why. So anyway, now we are getting invites back and a couple of people I thoguht would be no's are now comming. And FH said he isn't expecting any no's from his family. So what happens if we go over our maximum? there is another room at the hall available that night, however I dont like it. And my room is the reason I chose my hall. Should i be freaking out?

mmm... if you end up going over, you might talk to your RH about whether they offer oval tables instead of round tables, since the oval shape will maximize your space. if they don't you'll could look into rent them to accomodate your guests.

oh god! FH just emailed me. he last minute added 3 people who he figured wouldnt come and they rsvped yes! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! i dont know what to do!

I know they have oval in the other rooms. So maybe they could move them into our room. I dont know if they would do this though. I dont know if they would even let me rent them if I wanted to. im not sure. I am going to be devastatedif we have to switch rooms. Ill be so unhappy cus I just dont like it.

remember...youll prob get 20 ppl who wont go....but i feel yea im 25 over my RH limit....but dont forget not everyone will be able to go!
there will be some nos....and your RH will help u through it! have u contacted them for a worst case scenario plan?

They are the kind of people who will decide last minute. And FH had about 4 couples he said were nos and are now comming. And he doesn't know of anyone in his family that will be a no cus they all live like 5 minutes from the hall. I just need like 8-10 couples to be no's. And Im not sure we will get it....

hopefully everything will work out. either some surprise NOs or the oval tables. At least you do have the other room as a backup.
I really have no idea how many people we will end up with since all of FH's family is OOT, and many of our friends are as well. I'm emailing out an OOT guide next week with the hotel info again + other info so I'm hoping it will encourage more people to book their rooms.
We already have 14 rooms booked, 2 nights each

You can't worry about it just yet! Don't drive yourself crazy. I had no idea who would say no, but people are surprsing me left and right! I am sure it will all work out, just give it some time.

thanks ladies!!! its just like surprising when people you really doubted would come rsvp saying yes! We have gotten 2 rsvp cards back that are no's so far and thats it! And we have goten like 20 back that are yes's.
Also, Im freaking out a bit cus FHs mom said that his international family usually decides a couple weeks befoer the wedding if they can come. They did this with his one sister. They decide the week before to come. So if we get like another family of 5 Im really scr*wed.

Start adding people to the tables instead of tables of 10 tables of 15 . Then tell the catering hall that you need some oval tables which they should have. I think at my hall we have round tables that can made bigger. We use them when we do kosher and Indian weddings. so it should be no problem.

ummm....ok thats not kosher with me. You seem nervous and i dont blame you. Tell Fh's mom that while it might be what they normally do, you n eed to know now. You cannot know that week. Hall needs a headcount now...
FH mom needs to get on the phone with them and tell them u need an answer Yes or No by normal rsvp time. IF they dont assume they arent coming....
why are they having all the control! its your wedding and u tell them when they need to tell u
