Invite situation...update

Ok. So glad these aren't my friends, but whatever...

There are 3 of FH's friends that live in the same house together.

2, FH says, he is more closer with, so they get an invite, but 1 of them doesn't. He bases this on the sole rule of 'If his number isn't in my cellphone, I don't consider him a friend, he's an 'aquintance''.

That's funny, because every time we go to the bar, he talks to that one friend more than the other 2.

Not only that, when we do poker tourneys at his parents house (since its a central location and FFIL thinks he's a high roller and knock us 'kids' on our butts), FH tells his 2 friends to bring the one friend.

I don't see what's the problem, it's only ONE more person at this point since we finalized the list. I just do not feel comfortable sending invitations to the 2 friends he mentioned to the house and leaving the one guy out. He's not that bad (in my eyes), so I don't know where FH gets his grudge with him.

FMIL agrees with me, and she is currently calling him at this moment to talk to him about it because it just doesn't seem right.

Are me and FMIL crazy?

Ok, so I talked to FSIL & FBIL who invited this one guy to there wedding, and they have pretty much made it clear that we'd never be invited to this guy's wedding, and FH is right, he really isn't that close with him and they really don't think the guy would care. Plus, he wasn't invited to the other brother's wedding (FH has 3 brothers, 2 that are married already), so now I don't feel so bad.

I personally don't care either way, but I just don't want this to fall on me. I told FH he's to talk to him if something is said, I'm out of it.

Re: Invite situation...

I would say if you guys never see the 3rd kid then don't invite him.. but I think it would be more awkward everytime you go out and he's somewhere you both know that he wasn't invited kinda thing..

we tried to do this and cut someone we don't consider a friend out- and we ended up not bc he asked someone else about our wedding invitation.. but I'm glad we just decided to invite him bc we run into him at other parties all the time and its less wierd..

No, you're not. I would feel the same way you do.
