What is the appropiate time line to send out invites in regards to the wedding date ?

We mailed 2 months before (b/c we did send a STD, I'd do 3 months if no STD)
RSVP date 1 month before (Thursday!)

I plan on getting mine out end of sept, first week of oct. I did sent STD's too, cause its Thanksgiving weekend.
