When is a good time to send out invites if we want them say 2-3 weeks earlier then what is 'normal' ( not that I know what is normal) and how long before the wedding do you make the RSVP date?

i am probably going to send out my invities 9-10 weeks before the wedding and the RSVP will be 4 weeks before. It will give plenty of time for us to check with the people who RSVP late.

I'm sending mine out the beginning of May and the RSVP is June 4th. I would'nt send it out any earlier than 10 weeks.

the poll results are largest for 8 weeks? Wow I thought that was cutting it short...thats a 4 week rsvp date???

my wedding is october 30 - i am sending invites at the end of may since about 60 - 70 % of the people comming are out of town i would give them extra time to make arrangements

Our day is Nov. 27(thanksgiviing weekend) we plan to mail them the first or second week in Sep and the RSVP date is the second week in Oct. I want to have plently of time to wait for late ones and have lots of time to get everything done without having to rush...

Our wedding is on a Sunday afternoon in October. We have a lot of OOT family. We sent out STDs. We already have a good idea who will be coming. We'll send the invites out 8 weeks before with an RSVP date of Sept. 12th, 3 weeks before the wedding.

Ok...now the poll shows 10-12 weeks being the more popular choice but no one seems to be posting about it...I would like the comfort of 10 weeks before to mail invites 6 weeks before for RSVP date ....will be say thats too soon?
