Invite with a guest or not

Invite with a guest or not

I have decided to invite every single person coming to the wedding over age 21 with a guest whether or not they are in a relationship. Do people usually bring guests with them just because it says and guest or do majority of people invite guests under specific circumstances? I can still change it, just wanted opinions.

We are doing the same... over 21 and you get to bring one. That's how it's always been done with other weddings in the family and it has worked out fine!

Yes, they will still find someone to bring. My friend from grad school brought her mom as her guest because her boyfriend couldn't make it.

From what I have seen--if people know other single friends will be there, they probably wouldn't bring a guest. But maybe a coworker that doesn't really know ppl may bring a guest. I guess it depends on the person.

I am inviting people w/ guests as well--and I think there will be people who bring a guest just to bring a guest & others that won't. For those you invite that may not know anyone really they will bring a guest.

We have such a large guest list so in order to try and keep it down we only gave those with boyfriend/girlfriends guests. Except for older people. For example, my co-worker is single and 38, so she got a guest. But our friend Mike in the bridal party who is single did not get one.

I have to say I was excluded from an invitation once because at the time my boyfriend and I were not engaged. I was so mad at this and I thought it was rude. I think you are doing the right thing by inviting all over 21 with guest whether or not they are dating.

My friend said thats how it was at her wedding. If they knew people (unless they were dating someone) didnt bring a guest.

I invited everyone out of HIGH SCHOOL w/ a guest (309 invitees) - hardly anyone not in a relationship is bringing anyone - so my guest list actually wound up being 250 - mostly b/c of that.

- of course there were a few who are bringing guests and we are like - who the heck are they bringing? Like FH's 40 year old uncle who, for as long as I have known him, has never brought anyone anywhere! Why now when my family is paying? Not very nice...

I think if the person invited doesnt know many people (or anyone) attending the wedding, they will bring a guest.

But if they know there will people there that they can chat with or dance with, they will come by themselves.

When I was single, I rarely ever brought a guest (sad, huh? ) even though I was invited with one. So I guess, in some circumstances, some people feel comfortable going alone, some would rather bring someone. I'm sorry I know that doesn't clear things up at all.
