invite wording...

does this look OK to you? i am unsure about the line 'as we join our lives in marraige'...should it be 'as they join their lives in marraige'?

Lacey Ann
daughter of Ms. Lois P******
and
Mark James
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L* D****
request the honour of your presence
as we join our lives in marriage
on Friday, the seventh of July
Two thousand and six
at six-thirty in the evening
Atlantis Marine World
Riverhead, New York
Reception following ceremony

what other ways are there to say you are invited to the wedding besides... 'request the honour of your presence, as we join our lives in marriage'? like something more warm?
thanks~lacey

I'm doing 'request the pleaure of your company'

Official etiquette says...

'Pleasure of your company' for a non religious ceremony or one outside of a house of worship.

'Honour of your presence' for a religious ceremony.

That being said both my BF and I went with the latter even though we both got married at the hall.

I think it should read 'their lives in marriage'.

Re: invite wording...

thanks! i thought 'as they join their lives in marraige' sounded better, but i got the wording for a website that had 'we'. we will use 'they'. good thing they gave us a week to change our wording before they put the order in, bc we changed a lot from the original wording. ~lacey
