Invite wording

Invite wording

My parents are footing bill for most if not all of reception... his parents giving very generous wedding gift which which we were advised about when we were engaged. We could put towards band, photog, florist etc. but FH and I prefer to bank for a future home and pay for the extras ourselves. Do I mention his parents on invite also, or only my parents?

Re: Invite wording

I would do:

Brides parents:
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
and
grooms parents:
Mr. and Mrs. Jason Little
request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their children,,,something like that

FH's parents are not contributing anything to the wedding but I still wrote 'son of Mr. and Mrs. XXXXX' on the invitation

Thanks. I don't want to insult my parents (do they deserve the spotlight?) but I feel FH parents deserve to be on the invite too...

That's exactly what I did, eventhough my parents are footing the bill.

I agree----- I would just write

'son of Mr. & Mrs. _______'

Re: Invite wording

I think both parents names should be at the top, I dont think it should matter whose parents are paying more. Most people I know put both parents ont top regardless of whose paying what for the wedding. Ex. My uncle and aunt (parents of the groom) paid for my cousins entire wedding and still put the brides parents names at the top along with their names.
