Re: Invite Wording

If John Albert Smith doesn't like his middle name I would write instead: Mr. John Smith, using the Mr. to take away from the fact you aren't using a middle name.

Reception to follow the ceremony

OR

If your reception is in a different room of the same venue like the 'Baltimore Room' you could write 'Reception immediately following in the Baltimore Room'

Couldn't you use his middle initial only, but then I think you should use only your middle initial, but I'm OCD so everything has to be symmetrical.

I just put 'Reception to follow'

It is better to not use the middle name at all than to use an abbreviation on a formal invitation.

IMHO, unless its a truly awful name, he should just get over it ... how many times in your life do you get to use your middle name anyway? I'm sure it has meaning to his parents & family ... most of the time (at least in our families) there's a history and a meaning behind a name.

just leave his middle name out completely

Dh and I both have HORRIBLE middle names, i always joke that if our middles names were our first names we'd be a couple with the worst names possible and it would sound so weird when we called eachothers names. They are not common and just bad lol
