Okay, so I have the pleasure of coming up with invite wording and both sets of our parents are divorced... i wanted to say 'the parents of' but my mom's being a snot and has to have it say 'Dr. and Mrs.' because she wants to show off that she's married to a Dr. (well, Pharm. D. ) and my father is still 'Mr.'
But she's paying, so I have to appease her.
So, how does this sound?
Dr. and Mrs. ____
and Mr. and Mrs. ____
Invite you to the wedding of their daughter
Debra Lynn
to
Kevin Michael
Son of
Ms. Mary _____
and
Mr. David _____
on the 7th of August 2005
at the blah blah blah
at blah blah
reception to follow.
Is that okay? It seems like a lot - I wanted to get that really long paper and just fold the invites

Who's paying for the wedding? Traditionally that's whose names should be on the invitation. is you stepdad paying too? I think it's a little too wordy JMO

Re: Invite wording... is this too much?
they're all paying - though my mom/step-dad dad/step-mom are paying the most (fmil and ffil are contributing some, but not as much)
I would put the names at the bottem... but i think my mom would be ticked...

I personally dont think its too much at all!! Coming from someone who's invitation is like over a foot long and words from top to bottom

If my parents are paying for the wedding, how should I word it? I felt bad leaving out FMIL as a host too. Or should i give the props to my paretns for payign?

I don't think it's too much. Mine wa kinda wordy too and they had to adjust the font.
Because you have shared in their lives with your friendship and love Mr and Mrs. Bla Bla invite you to the wedding of their daughter ---- to
Mr. -----
son of Mr. and Mrs---
On ---- at -----
It ended up being a lot of lines but it loooked oK

Both the one above and the one you picked are extremely fine, believe me. It's not too much at all. We're all paying (both sets of parents and us). So, it sounds a lot like mine, really, which reads (my parents are divorced and my mom said 'don't you list me as Mrs. anybody!'):
Together with our parents, Ms. Olivia Morgan and Mr. Gregg Morgan and Mrs. Janet Pierce we Victoria Lynn and Robert Samuel invite you to share in the joy as we begin our new life together and become one in Christ on the 11th of June, two thousand and five at 12:00 in the afternoon at blah blah blah
Now that's a mouthful. But it's fine and it says it all.

You can included FMIL by saying son of Ms. Jane Doe She should not be included as a host if she is not paying.
