Invite/RSVP question...

How much time did you/are you girls leaving from when you send out invites to your RSVP date??

I want to send mine out by July 25th with an RSVP date of Sept 5th?
Thoughts????

i am leaving a month. I feel like too much times just gives them more time to not remember to return it.

im doing 5 weeks because if you do it for too long people do tend to forget...but its also your own preference

I am sending them out a month early though so I can see who is not coming and see if there is room for B list invites.

i gave them 4 weeks....not that it mattered, we still had to make calls and follow up
we are still missing 4 responses

I left a month. I sent them out June 28 so that everyone would get them by July 1st. The RSVP date is August 1st.

i was supposed to leave six weeks but ive been having nightmarish ongoing issues with the invitation place (all the drama will be in my review for sure) so by the time they actually go out i will only be giving my guests a month to respond in time for the rsvp date which annoys me to no end.

I am a date twin!
I actually just sent my invites out today, they were adressed and ready to go, I wanted them off my dining room table!!
My RSVP date is 9/2. It gives exactly 6 weeks.

Totally your preference. I'm waiting to receive mine, but should be getting them from 'her' either Friday or beginning of next week. That being said I was going to 'turn and burn' and mail them right out. We have a RSVP of Sept. 14 (1 mos) prior to the date.

We decided to do this because our guest list has approx 75% out of town. So I want to give people enough time to get out here.

our RSVP date will be 9/24 and i plan on mailing them out 8/8 so about 6 weeks AND im planning on doing a blist and sending them out on 9/1

I would give people 4 weeks to respond. But - I would make sure you give yourself enough time to follow up! So if you need all your responses by September 5, I would put the RSVP date as August 15 and mail the invitations four weeks before that. We were up against the wire because we had to follow up with so many people - but sending them earlier doesn't really help because the longer people have them, the more likely they are to forget to send it back in.

if i get my invitations out by july 25th (fingers crossed), it will be about 5 weeks b/c my rsvp date is september 1st.
