Ok are most of you buying stamps and putting them on or doing the hand stamp thing. Im so confused. If I put stamps on myself does that mean it goes through some machine and could get crushed?

you put the postage stamps on yourself, then take them to the post office to 'hand cancel' them, you know the stamp the post office puts on the top of the letter with the date on it?? instead of it going thru the machine!!

Hicksville and garden city are main hubs. If you take it to any other post office and request hand cancelling they'll forward it to one of theses offices. **Just some additional info**
