my roommate from college has a pretty cool younger brother, who we would party with on occasion and he loves the movie Wedding Crashers. I used to always joke with him, hey i'm not even going to invite you to my wedding, just so you can crash it. However, that was two years ago and I haven't really talked to him since. I invited my college roommate to the wedding, but not her him. Today, I get an email message from this kid, and he is like 'hey, should i just wait for my invitation or just come along with my sister as her guest?'
He was not invited. His sister was not invited with a guest. What do I do? Tell him to come? Tell him hey, sorry, but I have too many people as it is so I couldnt invite you? I can't really afford to have any extra people sneaking in!!!

Re: invites
i'd be upfront and let him know that you feel bad but his sister wasnt invited with a guest cause you guys will be maxxed out.
If you are comfortable with it tell him you can meet up after the honeymoon for drinks etc.

i agree... just make it clear that you would like to invite him and back then thought youwould be able to invite everyone you wanted but its just not possible due to finances.

Re: invites
If you cant afford it-then just explain that to him, that the numbers are out of control so you had to cut somewhere...hence why she wasnt invited with a guest im sure.
Otherwise, this much I will say-I had to do this b/c our numbers were outrageous....there are alot of people who are 'upset' that they werent invited and still to this day do not speak to us. They were people we hadnt talked to in awhile and were on our second list if we needed to invite more people.
So I would be prepared for there to be some kind of backlash whether from him or her. In essence, its your day so you do what you want. You just never know how someone will react when they find out they arent invited or as 'important' as they thought they were
