Invites...

I know that I am jumping out here early with this.. FH and I are going to look at invites on Tuesday night and find one that we love -

How far in advance are you planning on ordering yours?

How far in advance are you planning on mailing them?

How far in advance from your total count are you making your RSVP date?

I just picked out what I wanted as far as invites. Tessa
I'm having ours custom made.
And congrats to Tessa today is her wedding day.
I'm not sure of dates and times to send everything I'm sure Tessa will let me know the best time.

I havent picked ours yet ... I know that you send them like 3 months ahead and then the RSVP should be like a month ahead so you can call the slackers who didnt respond.

Since, mine on a holiday weekend we are sending out save the dates like probably in Nov.

july 07 - sent STDS (along with e-party invites)
end of dec 07 - ordered invites (awesome promotion was ending 12/31/07)
feb 07 - approved proofs after 3 versions (i was anal but lazy and there was no rush)
march 07 - rec'd invites & started stamping & stuffing
may 07 - finished stamping/stuffing

may 17 (3 months out) - mailed invites
july 17 (1 month out) -- rsvp date
aug 17 -- wedding date!

we're getting married on a sun in aug, and have a ton of OOTers so we mailed on the early side. you want to aim to mail 2-3 months out, and give yourself 4-5 weeks between your rsvp date and wedding day

also, no reason not to order early -- then you're not rushed and can take your time getting them ready
