I saw people are sending out invites for 2009. When are you suppose to mail? I always thought 2 months before, but some of them are 3-4 months before, so when is it??????

Re: Invites
I think it depends on your guests. if they are out of state, you might want to give them more time

Re: Invites
i sent mine almost 3 months before because I wanted an earlier RSVP date. This way it gave guests more time to plan for the after party at the hotel.

Re: Invites
I'd probably say 3-4 months before, especially if you have out of town guests that have to make travel arrangements.

Re: Invites
invitations should be mailed 2 months before the wedding date.
anything earlier starts to become too early, and your guests may respond with *less* urgency and consideration because they'll feel like they have soooo much time to mail back the card, they don't have to worry about it right away.
from an etiquette site:
Proper social form requires a four to six weeks mailing prior to the affair date. However, with the busy schedule of today’s society, a six to eight week mailing is more practical. Six weeks for local guests and eight weeks for out of town guests who need to make reservations.
