Ok, all I have to say is that the conflicting information on the web and in books is making me absolutely, out of my mind, CRAZY! I got my invites in the mail yesterday which made me very, very happy. I feel like I am in a really good spot with planning and then I decided to go on to the knot and look at the planning check list, which I have never used, as I knew I could check off a lot of things. As I went to check off 'ordered invitations' I noticed that it said 'you will need to mail these at the 3 month mark.' Hm, that's January and it's pretty much December...let the panic attack begin! Then I clicked some link they had that said that you shouldn't have your RSVP date more than 4 weeks after people receive the invites. My wedding date is 4-16 and the rsvp date printed on the invites is March 20. So do I mail the damn things in January or February?
I think this turned into a vent...thanks for listening!
EDIT: to take F-M-L out of subject, it was over the top.

Re: Invites CHECK and FREAK OUT! F-M-L
I remember looking once at the checklist from knot and decided I'm never looking at it again hah. It makes me feel as if I have nothing done!
Our weddings are around the same time - so this is what I'm doing - not sure if it helps...Our RSVP date is April 1st - we're planning on mailing them out by mid-January to end of January, so that everyone has about 8 weeks to send them back from the time they get them. Wedding is on April 30th. I think you'll totally be fine. Maybe plan around mid-January also. Do you have to do alot of work to put them together?
Btw, this is something I just did yesterday so in case it helps you - I'd recommend going to your post office and checking what stamps you need. I almost got 44 cent stamps, and the post office told me I need 61 cents!

Thanks a lot! I think I'll do January as I want people to have enough time, that damn knot list is the devil! Thanks for the post office tip, did they mention stamp prices going up?

Hahah it really is the devil. One of my friends emailed it to me when we booked our date. I started freaking out immidiately and refuse to look at it again lol.
Someone on the board mentioned the stamp prices might be going up...let me google and see if I can find something about it.

Yup, looks like stamps are going up as of January 2nd. 44 cent is going up to 46, which my guess means 61 going up to 63, etc. I'm just going to wait till then to get my stamps.

Getting married 4/30 as well. Our response date is 3/15 (don't want to have to rush seating) plus it gives me extra time to hunt down my no responders
I think we are mailing them in the middle of Jan that gives people 8 weeks.
ETA: I forgot to answer your question. Go for the early date

Thanks! I'm all about having time to hunt down the RSVP slackers!
