Invites went out yesterday and....

Apparently most of the guest list got their invites today. YAY!!

BUT(you had to know it was coming...)

3 people have already called and either asked if they can bring a guest when they were not invited with one, or assumed their daughter was invited and told FMIL that THEY can't wait to come...


The rsvps haven't even been mailed back to me yet and i'm up to 3 extra guests??

Honestly, I wouldn't care b/c I like the people who have been 'added' but I can't actually add them because I'm over my room max as it is... I already need a whole table to tell me they aren't coming, just for everyone to have a seat!

So far I've told everyone that asked that I do not have the room, and if I get enough negative replies I will consider letting them bring a guest, but as it stands now their invite is for one person and that's it.

I'm actually really calm about it, I'm not mad, I'm upset that the whole world can't come you know?

I wonder how many more calls like this I should expect?

I'm just happy that people want to come!

Good mentality...people want to come...no need to worry about minimum.

6?! Seriously?? You know we can't allow that...we need room for the paparazzi and quite frankly you're kind of fat so the two of you who were actually invited are already taking up the room of 6 people.
We're honored that you'd like the whole world to be there to celebrate the day with Jeff and Amanda... but... it's not gonna happen.
Sorry. Please tell your other 4 guests that they are welcome to send the gift they were going to bring either way, we'd hate to deprive them of the joy of giving.

You nailed it!!!!!!!!! Ok, so now what are you going to say at the folks at the velvet ropes who aren't dressed....you know...'properly'? WHIPS LEATHER AND CHAINS ARE THE DRESS CODE!!!

On a more serious note...just think how...well, lucky you are that you don't have to worry about hitting your minimum. Now if you think you are going to go over...I'm trying to get my rifle license and I'm sure that I could use the practice...just give me pics of the undesireables!!!!!!!!!!!

oh.... you have no idea how much fun i'd have at the velvet ropes!

you know... i'm actually worried i still might not make my minimum b/c people i thought were a 'given' just informed us that they cannot attend. it was more than 2 invites worth too... so we'll see what happens.

with all the other **** going on... people wanting to come to my wedding is not going to bring me down. I tell them politely that i can't do anything for them right now... if they have a problem, they don't have to come.
i want to get my FRIENDS onto the guest list. FH and I maxed out our room with family and our parents friends. we only have 1 table of our own guests. (which i do think is fair b/c my parents are paying, so i'm not complaining... but... well... you know)

'Soandso just emailed me to tell me how excited she and her daughter are to be coming to the wedding. They are sending their rsvp but wanted to let us know it's a YES!'

Fortunatley...my mom has offered to handle all this for me so I dont off my self between work and school at night....

I wouldn't say I'm 'going through it' I'm actually rather amused by the fact that pepole want to bring their daughter...it's just odd to me. Their daughters are teenagers, not little kids that can't stay home... they are at an age where i'm sure they'd rather have the house alone to themselves or hang out with a friend on a friday night rather than be at a stranger's wedding...
