How many months before the wedding should you send out official invites? I hear three months, but mine are probably gunna go out within 2.5 months...

I think it's okay to send them out 2.5 months in advance. I always thought it was only two months, but we just reserved our block of rooms at the hotel for the night of our wedding and they are requiring that all reservations be made a month in advance from the wedding. I guess that may be one of the reasons people go with three months? HTH

I believe that for a non-holiday weekend send your invites out 8-10 weeks in advanced. For a holiday weekend you send out the invites 10-12 weeks in advanced.
I do agree with the PP that stated about the room blocks. Our hotel rooms had to be booked a month in advanced. AND if you have any international it should probably be a little earlier then the rest.
We were Labor Day Weekend of last year (9/5/10) and we sent them out June 26th.

We sent them out about 2.5 months before with an RSVP date of 1 month before

I'm sending mine out the last week of July which is about 2.5 months before the wedding (definitely by August 1st) - and we're date twins! My RSVP date is Sept 10th

Im sending mine out right after xmas to avoid getting lost or what not, so mine will be 2 months before. I wouldve prob done mine 2 1/2 months if it wasnt for xmas.
